Melvin Guillard and Ross Pearson were both adamant about wanting a mulligan following yesterday’s disappointing no contest in Manchester. The two will get their wish when they hook up the gloves again on March 8 in London, England. The bout was announced at yesterday’s UFC Fight Night 30 post-fight press conference.
Yesterday’s bout met an unfortunate end when the referee deemed one of a pair of knees to the head of Pearson illegal and the ringside physician halted the bout due to a massive cut on Pearson’s forehead. Guillard and Pearson were both upset about the stoppage of the bout but they will get a shot to settle the score on March 8 in London.
The lightweight pairing will join a fight anchored by a light heavyweight pairing between Antonio Rogério Nogueira and Alexander Gustafsson. More details about the card, including more fights, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
